Survey Seyz Kansas City Northland Dislikes Mayor Q & Feels Cheated

Before the latest Kansas City primary we were asked to HOLD the results of recent Kansas City polling which reflected an OVERWHELMINGLY NEGATIVE view of Mayor Q regarding his "work" on the nice side of the bridge.

The logic for holding might have been that Northland campaigners didn't want to seem too aggressive in their criticism and "put off" some of their allies in Midtown.

Now . . . The primary is over and we're about a month out until more serious campaigning. And so . . . A glimpse at early in the year local sentiment deserves a closer peek.

The basics . . .

RECENT KANSAS CITY POLLING REVEALS OVERWHELMING OPPOSITION TO MAYOR Q IN THE NORTHLAND!!!

Insiders told us the polling represents a diverse cross-section of the voters that doesn't just include Northland residents but also frequent voters throughout Kansas City.

Let's parse the most important polling results . . .

41% feel that Kansas City is headed in the wrong direction.

40% have an UNFAVORABLE view of Mayor Q.

64% don't believe the Northland is getting their fair share from Kansas City government.

Crime ranked as the single-most important issue for voters.

Now . . . What can we learn from this polling???

These numbers offer EXCELLENT insight into the psyche of local residents just a few weeks before a racially charged shooting and subsequent accusations of racism & hatred directed against an entire community.

More importantly . . .

ALREADY WE NOTICE THAT MAYOR Q IS LESS THAN BELOVED DESPITE AN IMPRESSIVE PRIMARY ELECTION VICTORY!!!

In fact, in recent history . . . Only Mayor Funkhouser has endured such widespread negative sentiment.

Now . . .

It's important to realize that this polling didn't exactly help the fortunes of pro-police campaigners. Voting blocs in Kansas City remain intact. As our blog community predicted, union infrastructure and political groups still deliver reliable votes despite local sentiment.

Still . . .

The polling offers a glimpse at the future and a realization that many locals doubt Kansas City's current direction enacted by 12th & Oak leadership.
