More EEOC Claims Confront City Manager & META Data Center

Once again allegations over unfair workplace practices challenge the office of KCMO city manager Brian Platt.

We gotta be careful with this one so we'll make it quick, light & breezy and try to stick to EXACTLY what we know without adding (many) personal insights.

For those who aren't familiar with our bloggy work . . . We've been reporting on Kansas City, Missouri for almost two decades and over the years this kind of news starts here and then MSM picks up and adds more deets to our spicy leftovers.

So here we go . . .

ALLEGATIONS OF UNFAIR WORKPLACE PRACTICES HAVE, ONCE AGAIN, BEEN LEVELED AGAINST THE CITY MANAGER!!! META DATA CENTER DEVELOPMENT PLAYS A PART IN THE DRAMA!!!

Remember . . .

Late last year 12th & Oak communications dude Chris Hernandez called out city manager Brian Platt for allegedly encouraging lying to the media.

For now . . . That claim lingers but the city manager, strangely, seemed to have the support of Mayor Q going forward.

Now . . . Concerning the widely celebrated META data center in Kansas City's Northland . . .

This week a trusted insider got a hold of us and shared word around the campfire . . .

Complaints from local minority contractors still circulate because of a lack of participation in the META project and KCMO's lackadaisical attitude about enforcing rules on a social media giant.

Here's where things get interesting . . .

A city hall staffer raised questions about these complaints and, allegedly, in return confronted threats and was ultimately dismissed for her efforts to uphold equal hiring federal law.

She has now launched an EEOC complaint against the city manager's office AND a council dude who is likely to earn reelection this June.

The complaint is on file and slowly making its way through the process.

Of course . . . City Manager Brian Platt and his office stand innocent until proven otherwise. And it's fair to note that a great many of these complaints are typically settled and rarely meet with a lot of public discussion until some kind of award or decision is granted.

Here's what really matters and probably why this made its way to our desk. . .

MAYOR Q'S SUPPORT FOR BLACK FEMALES IS NOW OPENLY CRITICIZED AT 12TH & OAK AND HIS EAST SIDE SUPPORT SEEMS TO BE FADING FAST!!!

Even worse . . .

MAYOR Q FIRMLY STANDING BEHIND BRIAN PLATT AGAINST EAST SIDE CONCERNS HAS EARNED REBUKE FROM KANSAS CITY'S BLACK COMMUNITY!!!

Ouch.

That has to sting . . . When constituents yearn for the love that they believe is going somewhere else.

But I digress . . .

Again, our mission here at www.TonysKansasCity.com isn't to try to settle these disputes in public. Instead, we merely want to inform our blog community about future debates and local government insider discussion now coming to light.

Developing . . .
