Missouri Trans Fight To Worsens As Medical Treatment Crackdown Targets Adults

For AGNOSTIC denizens of the political discourse . . . Here's something to consider . . .

Missouri conservatives assured voters that their clap back against trans people was focused only on protecting youngsters. Critics of the trans community garnered support given a great deal of LEGIT concern about "gender-affirming" care or drag shows for youngsters.

Remember this sensible quote from Missouri Gov Parson on the topic that resonated on both sides of the aisle . . .

“Look. When you’re an adult, you’re an adult. You can make your decisions — what you want to do in life — and if you want to go down some of those roads, go down ‘em…that’s perfectly what America is about. But trying to do this to 10, 12, 13-year-old children’s gonna affect them for a lifetime – it’s something I don’t believe we should be doing.”

BUT NOW . . .

Missouri GOP leaders doubled down and target trans people with medical crackdowns regardless of age.

To be clear . . . This isn't a crisis that impacts most Missourians BUT it serves as the perfect wedge issue in order to effectively garner votes . . . Which is kind of the point of the whole thing.

Here's another overview . . .

"National groups advocating for LGBTQ+ rights contend the Missouri regulation — based on a state law against deceptive and unfair business practices — goes further than most restrictions enacted elsewhere.

"Three states have imposed restrictions on gender-affirming care via regulation or administrative order, but Missouri’s regulation is the only one that also limits treatments for adults."

Trans Adults Brace for Treatment Cutoffs in Missouri

Missouri introduced an emergency rule that will restrict gender-affirming health care for adults and children. Advocates vow to challenge it

Missouri Just Issued the Strictest Restrictions on Trans Healthcare in the U.S.

Advocates immediately slammed the rule, with PROMO, Missouri's statewide LGBTQ+ organization, stating that it constitutes "an all out attack on transgender Missourians' lives and very ability to exist." "Let's be clear - gender-affirming care is based on decades of clinical experience and research and is not considered experimental," the organization said in a statement.
