As of late, Kansas City law enforcement seems more adept at managing community outcry under new leadership.

A revived unit will initially have seven detectives and one sergeant supervisor dedicated to investigating missing persons cases. (KCPD Cheif) Graves made the announcement at a meeting of the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners last week.

The move comes as the police department has faced criticism from Black leaders who say police are not taking missing persons reports seriously enough in their communities.
