KC TENANTS POWER 'CO-GOVERNANCE' PLEDGE EXPOSED!!!

Special interests dominate every local election but today we take a peek at a group claiming to represent locals but demanding a loyalty oath to their organization above all else.

Council commitments required from "KC Tenants Power" are more stringent and restrictive than anything we've seen in local politics . . . Even most local unions don't ask for this kind of blood oath.

Make no mistake . . .

KC TENANTS POWER DEMANDS TOTAL SUBMISSION FROM CANDIDATES THEY ENDORSE!!!

If you're part of their group . . . That's great.

However . .  For voters who aren't affiliated with their protest movement, the list of demands means that everyone else ranks far behind this organization and their agenda.

More importantly . . .

COUNCIL DUDE ERIC BUNCH & HIS ENDORSEMENT COLLEAGUES ARE NOW UNDER THE OWNERSHIP OF KC TENANTS!!!

Vote for whoever you want. In the lifespan of this blog we've only made a few endorsements.

However . . .

Insiders tell us that it's important the local electorate understand how council candidates have committed themselves for the next 4 years.

Accordingly, here's the agreement FIRST on TKC rather than hidden in protest group fine print . . .

KC Tenants Power Co-Governance Pledge

"Our endorsed candidates have taken a co-governance pledge, including commitments to the following:

Consulting: Proactively working with KC Tenants Power to create policies relevant to our Platform, strategizing with us around other proposals, and ensuring that KC Tenants Power is involved at every step of the way.

Engaging: Bringing KC Tenants Power into the discussion when we have been left out, keeping KC Tenants Power in the loop with the process, and committing to regular communication regarding policy and strategy.

Speaking out: Organizing colleagues in support of issues, amplifying the voices of poor and working-class people and/or those most directly impacted by a given issue, and using KC Tenants Power talking points in public and among colleagues.

Voting: Voting for policies that KC Tenants Power creates/supports and that put people first; Opposing policies that put profit before people’s lives. Debriefing: Following up with KC Tenants Power after a deliberation or vote on policy in order to gain/give feedback, discuss next steps, and hold space for tension/joy.

Recognizing: Publicly recognizing and giving credit to KC Tenants Power for policy and other matters we organize around together.

Validating: Validating KC Tenants Power ideas and leaders in rooms and spaces we’re not invited into and pushing back on those who would discredit our leaders or our vision for how we create a better Kansas City."
