Kansas City Suspected Drug Dealer Gunfight With Police: Foreshadowing?!?

Authorities have already warned us that the cartels and more aggressive homegrown drug gangs are operating locally . . . This week a gun battle with police involving EPIC amounts of illicit drugs doesn't portend well for the future . . . Here's more info on the sitch . . .

Officers were following up on an investigation from a few days ago that involved drug dealers accused of selling large amounts of fentanyl. They were undercover and were again trying to purchase fentanyl pills as part of that follow-up. However, the deal went bad.

Tactical officers were in the area of 18th and Wood when they tried to stop a vehicle that had the suspects from the investigation inside. Once the vehicle stopped and they tried conducting an arrest, gunfire erupted from the suspect vehicle.

3 KCKPD officers shot in area of 18th & Wood

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - An investigation is underway after three KCKPD officers were shot Wednesday afternoon. KCTV5 News first received word of the shooting shortly after 3:30 p.m. It happened in the area of N. 18th Street and Wood Ave. That is south of Parallel Parkway.
