Kansas City Star Incites Racial Division After Ralph Yarl Shooting?!?

Despite so much local animosity . . . This is comforting . . .

Virtually everyone TKC has messaged or spoke with after a tragic Kansas City teen shooting was RELIEVED & ENCOURAGED that the youngster will recover after suffering gunfire in the Northland.

In fact . . . Even some of the staunchest right-wing MAGA dudes who read this blog don't really  begrudge the kid the 3 MILLION BUCKS worth of GoFundMe cash that will hopefully provide him a great start in life.

The main point of contention from many conservatives is with those who offer accusations of racism without proof.

But even more than that . . .

KANSAS CITY PUSH BACK AGAINST MSM NARRATIVES HIGHLIGHTING ALLEGED RACISM IS PALPABLE!!!

Most of the criticism notes activist talking points reported by The Kansas City Star. Since they're not part of a public company any longer . . . There's no keeping track of their data and how so much negative sentiment might impact their subscriptions & advertising.

However . . .

This week we've seen overwhelmingly negative feelings against the Kansas City Star take hold given their reporting that not only accused a whole section of this town of racism but also unabashedly platformed protester talking points without much effort to maintain any semblance of balance or even journalistic objectivity.

On his talk show . . . Conservative Pete Mundo has been talking about this trend head on . . .

Moreover . . .

Check this tweet that pretty much encapsulates his objections . . .

Sadly . . .

The debate persists and both the newspaper and "public" radio seem to be doubling down on their viewpoint regarding this story.

Today's example from the radio . . .

"As the 16-year-old recovers at home and the alleged shooter, Andrew D. Lester awaits trial after pleading not guilty to two felony charges, a diverse group of residents showed up this week to protests. The case has reignited anger about race, guns and policing."

However . . .

Unnoticed by our progressive friends . . .

This sordid topic has also sparked a great deal of conversation about media bias, culture war, partisan talking points and election misinformation from so-called "progressive" activists.

A TKC reader perspective on local newspaper coverage . . . Agree or disagree . . . The comment deserves a peek . . .

"The Star is pushing this story to neuter the growing political influence of the Northland so that can continue to run a corrupt, woke city government."

Maybe . . .

And then again . . .

Maybe developer incentives and rampant rerouting of allocations aren't as "woke" as anyone suspects.

Either way . . .

The point here is that we notice a great deal of frustration with progressive & agenda-driven media on this story that is mostly unnoticed or ignored by local news readers who might be mistaking social media algorithms for reality.

MOREOVER . . .

In a tragic situation wherein Kansas City desperately needs a voice of reason, calm, objectivity, tolerance and understanding . . . Most of what we're getting from MSM is a sketchy racially-charged blame game that only serves to worsen the quotient of misery in the world.

After Ralph Yarl's shooting, Black Kansas Citians worry they're 'always going to be just Black.'

After Ralph Yarl shooting, Black people in Kansas City's Northland keep fighting racism

Before Theo Davis moved from Washington D.C. to help pastor a church in Kansas City's predominantly white neighborhoods north of the Missouri River, a Black church elder called him with a warning: Davis might encounter a bit more racism in the Northland than he was used to.

You decide . . .
