A recent message sent our way given the recent record breaking pace of deadly local crime . . . 

"Can you imagine the 'pucker' moment KCMO officials are having right now if anything bad happens to someone attending the draft? It would be national news and a debacle for the entire city . . . " 

That's probably correct . . . And so we aren't too proud to beg . . .

They say that thoughts & prayers don't matter any more but TKC vehemently disagrees . . . We literally have fingers & toes crossed that this is a safe event for EVERYONE.

Woman sentenced in 2022 shooting incident that left KCI officer injured

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - An Independence, Missouri woman is sentenced in connection to a shooting incident at Kansas City International Airport last December that left a KCI officer injured. Lacy Perry entered a guilty plea on Thursday, April 20, in Platte County court to first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle and resisting arrest.

Grandview woman charged with assisting fiancé in Kansas City robbery turned shooting

A Grandview woman is facing multiple felony charges for her alleged role in a March shooting in Kansas City that left multiple injured and one dead. Maya Ward, 31, was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree robbery and two counts of armed criminal action after she and her fiancé, Daniel Brown, 36, allegedly robbed 42-year-old Terrance Blewett, according to the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office.


Man charged in connection to shooting in Olathe

A man has been charged with attempted first-degree murder in connection to a weekend shooting in Olathe. Christopher Barwick, 51, was charged on Wednesday. Court records state the shooting happened on April 23rd, 2023 in Olathe, Kan. The shooting in the 800 block of South Windsor Road left the man with critical injuries.

OLATHE, Kan. (KCTV) - An investigation into an Olathe daycare reveals some alarming actions by a teacher who was supposed to care for children. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) surveyed Children's Lighthouse in March, following a complaint by a parent.


Man released from prison files lawsuit against Kansas City Police Department

A Missouri man who was released from prison after serving time for a murder he said he did not commit is now suing the Kansas City Police Department. Keith Carnes is suing the Kansas City Police Department, accusing six Kansas City police officers and former prosecutor Amy McGowan of coercing witnesses to identify Carnes as the shooter in an unsolved murder.

The co-founder of a fundraising group linked to Steve Bannon that promised to help Donald Trump construct a wall along the southern U.S. border was sentenced to four years and three months in prison on Wednesday for stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from donors.


Prairie Village police looking for two suspects following armed bank robbery

PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. - The Prairie Village Police Department is looking for two suspects following an armed bank robbery Wednesday afternoon. Police officers responded to the incident just before 1:30 p.m. at the Community America Credit Union near W. 79th Street and State Line Road.


Raytown woman charged with animal abuse after dog found in cold weather

A Raytown woman has been charged with animal abuse after a dog was found in freezing weather in February. Onica Morgan was charged Wednesday by the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office. Animal Services, in mid-February, responded to the 4100 block of Wayne Avenue on a report of a dog being left in the cold.

Johnson County Sheriff's office hosting shootout to raise money for Special Olympics

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas Citians will have no shortage of things to do this weekend with the 2023 NFL Draft in town. They'll also be able to participate in a shootout fundraiser on Saturday, April 29 for the Special Olympics of Kansas, hosted by the Johnson County Sheriff's Office.
