KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The victim of a shooting Wednesday night in Kansas City, Missouri, died from his injuries over the weekend. The Kansas City Police Department identified the victim as Deonta Words, 28. Kansas City, Missouri, police officers responded to the 1300 block of Highland Avenue after hearing the shooting occur while in the area.

Kansas lawmakers pass bill to help child sex abuse survivors
TOPEKA, Kan. - Kansas legislators gave final approval Monday to a bill that would make it easier to pursue criminal charges or file lawsuits over childhood sexual abuse years after the abuse occurred. The House approved the measure, 120-0. It goes to Gov. Laura Kelly because the Senate approved it last week, 40-0.
Ray County Sheriff says guard was stabbed 12 times, new video shows attack
Authorities in Ray County, Mo., are continuing their search for Justin Robinson. Robinson and another inmate escaped the Ray County Jail earlier this week.
