Kansas City 2023 NFL Draft Neighborhood Traffic Crisis Assured?!?!

This morning we start out conversation with what is likely a plan to FAIL

Locals in and around downtown seem convinced . . .

LACK OF CITY HALL PLANNING HAS PRETTY MUCH GUARANTEED AN NFL DRAFT KANSAS CITY TRAFFIC & PARKING CRISIS!!!

A few points to consider . . .

- Westside residents have attempted to warn 12th & Oak but nobody is listening to the outcry & warnings. As we noted previously, 4th District council dude Bunch is missing in action as residents have attempted a "road diet" to protect youngsters and prevent traffic chaos but city hall won't allow the privilege that was enjoyed by Brookside & Midtown residents during the pandemic.

- Streets near Downtown are narrow and bus routes have been designed so that visitors will likely use neighborhoods as a parking lot and thereby trapping many residents and forcing a mad rush for parking spaces.

- Many residents ask: Why is Mayor Q using the Westside as a parking lot and keeping his new Coleman Highlands neighborhood safe from commuters & interlopers?!?!

- If this thing is half as big as they predict . . . We're going to see an EPIC parking & traffic hot mess that could have been avoided with better park & ride solutions.

- The "downtown driveway" is really nothing more than impending heartache. Predictions of 600K people will crowd every neighborhood near downtown and already there's fear that many streets will be completely blocked amid the festivities.

Again . . .

WESTSIDE & DOWNTOWN RESIDENTS HAVE WARNED OF IMPENDING TRAFFIC FAIL BUT NOBODY IS LISTENING!!!

At this point all we can do is hope for the best.

Judging by social media chatter . . . Our environmentalist & urban planner friends seem to have totally disregarded human suffering and use the opportunity to encourage more public transit that they won't be utilizing . . . Meanwhile . . . The crisis in the making during election season continues to erode confidence in 12th & Oak from residents who now realize that help isn't coming.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Westside neighborhood in Kansas City is about a fifteen-minute walk to Union Station. It's also just outside of the controlled boundaries for the NFL Draft. Just like the Chiefs Super Bowl victory parade, it's likely people will park there for other big events.
