Kansas City 2023 Homicide #44: Gunfire Kills Victim Inside Apartment

We hope to have a bit more perspective on this report later but for now we just wanted to share the facts of the investigation as they've been reported.

First note . . .

Homicide 6400 blk of Manchester

Just before 1am officers were called to the 6400 blk of Manchester on a reported shooting.  Upon arrival, officers located the victim, an adult male, inside an apartment building suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  EMS responded to the scene and declared the victim deceased.

Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Personnel have responded to the scene.  They will be processing the scene to recover any evidence and speaking to any potential witnesses.

Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 816-234-5043. Or if you wish to remain anonymous you can do so by calling the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.  There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information provided to TIPS which leads to an arrest in the case.

We are working with Partners for Peace in all our homicide investigations to monitor risks for retaliation and provide social services to affected residents.

Kansas City Police investigating homicide near 64th and Manchester

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Police are investigating a homicide in the 6400 block of Manchester. Police were called to the area just before 1 a.m. When they arrived, police say they found an adult man inside an apartment who had been shot. Police say he died on the scene.

One person was killed in a shooting in the 6400 block of Manchester Avenue, according to police. The shooting happened at 12:55 a.m. on Tuesday morning. There's no word yet if the victim is a man or a woman.

Just before 1 a.m. Kansas City police were called to the the 6400 block of Manchester for a reported shooting. There officers located an adult man inside an apartment building with gunshot wounds.
