"Retail stores’ footprints are shrinking in major cities like San Francisco and New York as companies abandon malls and large-format stores in downtown areas in favor of residential neighborhood locations that serve the new generation of remote workers."

“Of course this time is bittersweet,” Jan Buerge, owner, said. “We are also looking forward to more time with family, leisurely travel, writing, photography and a host of other interests. We had no idea when we started as a tiny market stall in Westport in 1984 that we would grow numerous times including our move to Brookside."

World's Window in Brookside announces it is closing its doors in March

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - World's Window in Brookside, a nearly 39-year-old store that sells clothing, home decor and more, announced it will officially close later in March. Owners Jan and Lonnie Buerge first told KSHB 41 News that they were looking to sell the shop back in November 2022.
