TKC Reader Witnesses Legend Marilyn Maye Earn Historic Carnegie Hall Debut

One of our finest readers sent this note our way and it's ALMOST as good as seeing Kansas City's greatest musical legend in action.

"It was 52 years ago when Marilyn Maye and her daughter Kristi sang at our wedding . . . In my parents' back yard. One of the great thrills of our lives was seeing Marilyn perform live at age 95 in her debut solo at Carnegie Hall in New York  this past Friday evening, March 24, 2023.

"I am enclosing a photo of Marilyn at the reception after her spectacular performance filled with dozens of wildly enthusiastic standing ovations. Her voice was as strong as ever, and her wit as sharp, as well. You should haveseen her lively kicks, too! What a treasure she is."
