Shame: Poorly Planned New KCI Parking Lot Already Hits Capacity

THE NEW KCI PARKING CRISIS PERSISTS DESPITE VOTER WARNINGS ABOUT OLD & BUSTED DESIGN!!!

Parking and traffic considerations prove to the Achilles' heel of the new structure and there's no easy fix on the horizon. 

Moreover . . . It'll be hard to enjoy all of those new foodie places, artsy exhibits and the trans bathroom if there's no place to park.

Nevertheless . . . Here's the word . . . 

"KCI announced Tuesday that its 6,200 space parking garage and surface parking reached capacity, leaving economy parking as the only option. The Kansas City Aviation Department estimated that the next two weeks could be the busiest for travel since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The brand-new parking garage, which charges $25 per day, features lights hanging from the garage ceiling that turn green when a parking space is open. But right now, the garage ceiling will be lit in red, indicating the spaces are occupied."

KCI announced Tuesday that its 6,200 space parking garage and surface parking reached capacity, leaving economy parking as the only option.

In addition to the new Kansas City International Airport terminal, crews built a new parking garage. Located just across the street from the terminal, it allows travelers to park and walk right over to check-in and security.

As spring break settles in for many area schools, KCI says it has reached max capacity at its new parking garage.The airport tweeted out Tuesday morning that travelers driving to the new terminal would need to use economy parking if they planned on leaving their vehicle.
