Myth-Busting Kansas City Bait & Switch By Way Of New Recycle Bins

In a classic Kansas City Shuffle . . . Locals are overlooking a classic bit of 12th & Oak misdirection.

Here's what no other reporting in Kansas City is mentioning . . .

NOBODY WANTED RECYCLE BINS, KANSAS CITY RESIDENTS HAVE BEEN BEGGING FOR TRASH BINS SO WE DON'T HAVE TO THROW GARBAGE ON THE GROUND LIKE HOBOS!!!

Sadly . . .

That would require . . . An effort.

Trash collection people are too busy to bother with bins.

However . . .

Given that few people recycle and their highly sorted refuse is more easily manage on it's way to the landfill with all the other garbage . . . This move was a nice distraction.

We're obliged to dispute the illusion of progress because it's a particularly annoying mirage . . . Check-it:

They will be yellow with lids and that they would cost the city $48.50 each with no charge to households. Each of these carts will feature an RFID chip that will be specifically assigned and registered to each household. While existing tubs will still be able to be used, the city hopes that this new technology will help see more stolen, damaged, or wind blown carts returned to the rightful owner.
