KK Correct On Heart Probs For KU Coach Bill Self Despite Kansas City Star Denial

We're working on other stuff in the background but right now we want to start with the newspaper getting smacked down by the facts.

Last week this headline served to contradict "Internet rumors" that turned out to be accurate.

Here's the "fact check" from the newspaper . . .

Meanwhile, back in reality . . .

Days later . . . Check the medical description after an extended hospital stay from better sources . . .

The 60-year-old underwent a standard heart catheterization and had two stents placed for the treatment of blocked arteries.

He is expected to make a full recovery and will rejoin the team this week.

“I’m so thankful for the amazing staff at the University of Kansas Health System for the excellent care I received,” Self said in a statement.

 More . . .

"Kansas initially said it would not be providing further details about Self's medical condition. However, it explained that he had a heart catheterization upon his release from the hospital. "

So what did we learn??? Per ushe . . .

THE KANSAS CITY STAR CONFUSED MEDICAL FACTS AND OFFERED PRESS RELEASE REPORTING RATHER THAN TRUSTING DEETS FROM THE SCENE!!!

Moreover . . .

KK WAS RIGHT!!!

We could play doctor and argue about the minutiae of medical terminology with print newsies all day but this story about the college basketball world isn't so important.

We merely wanted to offer follow-up that the newspaper might be willing to ignore. AND, most importantly, wish the coach a quick & full recovery.
