Kansas City Snake Saturday Comeback

Today we celebrate the return of family-friendly day drinking tradition.

Cowtown fun facts . . .

Snake Saturday has emerged as the "real" Kansas City Irish celebration wherein the local hooligan families can enjoy their ethnic pride fest without sharing the stage with twerking KCMO scholars or minor TV celebrities.

The "parade" is adorably pathetic and really just and excuse to booze on a Saturday morning after Winter is mostly complete.

Over recent years the party has endured increasing popularity and now locals from throughout the metro bring their babies to the morning booze session wherein fist fights often occur over the Scottish or Irish origin of bagpipes.

Also . . . Given the jubilation over the end of COVID regulations. There's a good chance somebody's mom will go topless at the height of the festivities.

Here's the mainstream write-up . . .

The Snake Saturday Parade in North Kansas City is back again, hitting yet another milestone for donations.

The parade starts Saturday morning for those getting in the green gear at 11 a.m. The “Super Shimmering Shamrock” theme, organizers say, is appropriate for this event that has spanned almost four decades always held the weekend before St. Patrick’s Day.

The parade has more than 100 entries. The staging is from 10th to 14th streets along Swift, and along 14th from Howell to Swift.
