Kansas City Police Respond To Deadly Downtown Shooting Saturday Morning

Depending the next update . . . This is either the 26th or 27th homicide so far this year. Which keeps the murder total comparable to the murder spike KCMO has endured since 2020.

Here is the first report . . .

Homicide 11th and Grand

This morning at 05:40 am officers were called to the apartment building at 11th and Grand on the southeast corner on a shooting call inside the building.

On arrival they were directed to a shooting victim (adult male), who was unresponsive, inside the apartment building in the common area there.

Officers rendered aid until EMS arrived and took over. The victim was transported to the hospital where he was declared deceased a short time later.

Preliminary investigation indicates the victim had an interaction with the suspect inside the apartment building in the common area that led to shots being fired striking the victim. The suspect then left the scene in an unknown direction.

Detectives and crime scene personnel are canvassing for witnesses and processing the crime scene at this time. They will be working on victim identification as well.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - One person died in a homicide Saturday morning near Grand Boulevard in Kansas City, Missouri. At around 5:45 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a reported shooting at 1103 Grand Blvd. One victim was found injured and was transported to an area hospital.

KCPD investigate early morning homicide

Kansas City, Mo. - At 5:45 am Saturday morning officers were called to the area of 11th and Grand to check on reports of a shooting. When they arrived on the scene, they found a victim suffering from possible gunshot wound. The victim was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
