Kansas City Police Defund Threatens Entertainment District Security

With warmer weather on the horizon we consider how police funding impacts Kansas City good times.

First and foremost . . .

For years we've noted that Kansas City hasn't reached police manpower goals set back in 1969. This is tantamount to a longstanding defund . . .

At the very least, both Mayor & Council deserves serious questions about their role in the failure to hire more police during a historic & deadly crime wave that has spanned 4 years.

Instead . . . The only recent 'anti-crime' progress is a 30 MILLION DOLLAR SLUSH FUND in order to provide more no show jobs to the politically connected.

And all of that leads us to this . . .

KANSAS CITY POLICE UNION LEADERS CONSIDER LIMITING OVERTIME ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT WORK IN ORDER TO PRESERVE WELLNESS & MENTAL HEALTH OF OFFICERS!!!

A recent tweet didn't get much traction but it deserves more attention . . .

Why???

Because limiting police in already violent Kansas City entertainment districts is a recipe for a disaster that will be a direct result of a FAIL to spike KCPD numbers.

Here's the Twitter quote from the local FOP and more context . . .

"Our department continues to shrink and entertainment districts rely more and more on our members willingness to work during their time off. Police mental health includes not working much off duty and reducing stress. We should limit officers from working entertainment districts."

Developing . . .
