This week, the go-to bank for US tech startups came rapidly unglued, leaving its high-powered customers and investors in limbo. Silicon Valley Bank, facing a sudden bank run and capital crisis, collapsed Friday morning and was taken over by federal regulators. It was the largest failure of a US bank since Washington Mutual in 2008.

We won't pretend to understand all of the macroeconomic machinations in play.

What we do know is that panic has a way of spreading quickly and it's politically expedient to exploit fear for gain amid tense times. 

On the other hand . . . 

There is a very good chance that so much economic suffering with untold casualties might just be financial penance for the sins of crypto schemes and so much free money printing.

Time will tell for people who don't understand that money is just a promise and that every deposit in the bank is yet another loan in an infinite array so that humans can feel better about our technology that isn't as far past seashell currency as we'd like to imagine.
