Kansas City Mayor Q Reelection Agenda Exposed: Charter Changes

Despite his unwillingness to participate in local Democracy, Mayor Q is already making plans for his next term.

Hopeful and hopelessly naive locals might think that he'll use the time to bolster his image and strengthen friendships in hopes of a bigger, better job. That's a nice thought . . . Meanwhile, back in reality . . . Mayor Q is likely to fundamentally transform life in Kansas City during his 2nd term.

INSIDERS REVEAL KANSAS CITY CHARTER CHANGE AT THE FOREFRONT OF MAYOR Q'S AGENDA AFTER WINNING REELECTION!!!

A sneak preview at items ahead for the remainder of this year and a few years in the future . . .

Say Goodbye To The Parks Board - This proud tradition of civic activism has been an annoyance to Mayor Q and the city manager. In his next term the Mayor is likely to change the charter and remove this old school bloc of political appointments.

No More At-Large Council Members - The argument is that this is a legacy KC's racist past and the positions will slowly be phased out to give local voters "more direct" representation, promote diversity and push KC closer to becoming Missouri's next STL. Again . . . Any opposition will be called "racist" and quickly discarded.

More Power For The Mayor's Office - For decades the 29th floor has desired more control over city hall. Now, with no real opposition inside city limits . . . Mayor Q is laying the groundwork for his successor and assuring that his power will be unquestioned by colleagues going forward.

Sadly . . .

A real newspaper might help us debate and discuss these changes and maybe ask council members about their feelings regarding these upcoming power moves . . . However, again, we've seen that most local political content is merely promotional garbage.
