Kansas City Crime Scene: Blue Ridge Homicide Amid Cont'd Violent Surge

Deadly local crime numbers continue to keep pace with the DEADLY HISTORIC TREND over the past 4 years. 

Here's the first report on the latest local killing . . .

Homicide 10400 block of Blue Ridge

Today at 4:50pm officers were called to 104th and Blue Ridge on a shooting.  While officers were on their way, the location was updated to the Family Dollar parking lot at 10445 Blue Ridge.  Upon their arrival, officers located the victim, an adult male, lying in the parking lot suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  EMS responded and transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition.  The victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel have responded to the scene.  They are processing the scene to recover evidence and detectives are speaking to witnesses.

We are urging anyone who may have been shopping or in the area who left prior to police arriving, understandably so for your safety, please call detectives with any information you may have.  Even if what you observed or heard seems insignificant to you, it may be a key piece of information for investigators.  You can reach homicide detectives at 816-234-5043. One dead following shooting in front of Family Dollar in Kansas City

The Kansas City, Mo., Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in the 10400 block of Blue Ridge Blvd. The shooting was reported shortly before 5 p.m. on Tuesday evening. Police found the victim, an adult male in the parking lot of the Family Dollar. He was transported to the hospital, but declared dead there.
