Victim dies in the hospital several days after shooting in Kansas City

The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department has opened a homicide investigation after a late death in a shooting that occurred over the weekend. It's the latest in a string of homicides in the city. Just before 11:45 p.m. on March 11, 2023, officers were called to the 1500 block of West 12th Street in response to a shooting call.


Kansas City Police lawyer accused of withholding public records leaves department

Holly Dodge, the Kansas City Police Department general counsel who was accused by a former department attorney of wrongly withholding public records, is no longer with the police department. According to KCPD officials, Dodge chose to leave the department and her last day was Wednesday. She joined the department Aug.


Olathe family crushed after attack at boarding facility kills one dog, injures another

OLATHE, Kan. (KCTV) - The Crowells are heartbroken at the loss of Bauer. He was a 15-year-old Pomeranian-Shih-Tzu mix that weighed 10 pounds. He was attacked by another dog at a boarding facility in Olathe. One bite killed him. Their other dog, Henry - a mini labradoodle mix - was at the same facility.


Missouri sheriff, deputies charged in criminal conspiracy involving kidnapping plot

POTOSI, Mo. - Iron County Sheriff Jeffery Burkett has been charged in a criminal conspiracy involving a kidnapping plot. Two of Burkett's deputies and an Iron County resident were also charged. The Washington County Prosecuting Attorney's Office is handling the case.
