Kansas City 2023 Homicide #33: Deadly Surge Claims Northeast Victim

Another tragic, trending note as Winter turns to Spring . . .

Homicide Independence and Garfield

This evening just before 9pm, officers were called to Independence and Garfield on an EMS call.  The call location was updated to Independence and Olive involving a party down in the middle of the road.  Upon arrival, officers located the victim suffering from apparent trauma in the roadway just east of Olive.  EMS responded and transported the victim to the hospital where the victim was pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Personnel have responded to the scene.  They will be processing the scene to recover any evidence and speaking to any potential witnesses.

Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 816-234-5043. Or if you wish to remain anonymous you can do so by calling the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.  There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information provided to TIPS which leads to an arrest in the case.

Police investigate homicide in northeast Kansas City Wednesday night

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police in Kansas City, Missouri, are investigating a homicide that happened on Wednesday night. The incident happened near Independence Avenue and Olive Street just before 9 p.m. Officers responded to the scene and located a victim suffering from trauma injuries.
