Kansas City 2023 Homicide #32: Victim Dies After Cutting Call

Here's something VERY important going forward . . .

At mid-March Kansas City keeps pace with last year's historic homicide count. 

2022 witnessed the 2nd highest level of deadly violence in this town's history. Despite election season, a HUGE amount of cash dedicated to fight crime by way of local community groups and a new array of promises. The numbers remain constant. 

Here's the first report .  ..

Homicide 2000 block of Linwood

This afternoon shortly before 2:45pm, officers were called to the 2000 block of Linwood on a reported cutting call.  Upon their arrival, officers located the victim inside an apartment suffering from apparent trauma.  EMS responded to the scene and declared the victim deceased.

Officers have detained a subject of interest.

Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Personnel have responded to the scene.  They will be processing the scene to recover any evidence and speaking to any potential witnesses.

Detectives are not looking king for any additional suspects at this time.

Kansas City 2023 homicide total reaches 32 following recent stretch of violence

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Wednesday marked the fifth day in a row that a homicide claimed a life in Kansas City. Kansas City police were called Tuesday to investigate two homicides just hours apart. From Jan. 1 through March 15, 32 people have died as the result of a homicide in Kansas City.


Deadly week: 6 homicides have happened in Kansas City, Mo., in past four days

It has been a busy four days for the Kansas City Police Department. Since Saturday, March 11th, there have been six homicides in Kansas City, Mo., bringing the total to 32 in 2023. The recent spike has caught Kansas City up with the pace set in 2022, when there were 31 at this time.


Police investigate homicide Wednesday afternoon in Kansas City, Missouri

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City, Missouri, police said a woman was stabbed to death Wednesday in the 2000 block of Linwood Boulevard. The homicide, which is the fourth KCPD has investigated this week, occurred in an apartment in the area. The incident happened shortly before 2:45 p.m.
