Historic Kansas City Updates On Preservation Of KC Call Building

Just a bit of rare good news from this advocacy organization . . . Here is an effort that not only helps local journalism but also utilizes private investment to help this iconic local publication. 

KC Call Assessment Completed

Historic Kansas City is happy to announce that both the hazardous materials survey and multidisciplinary building condition assessment study have been completed for the Kansas City Call property, located at 1715 E. 18th St. The Two-Story West Building was built in 1890. The Three-Story (Main) Center Building was built in 1888 and is sandwiched between the east and west additions. The 1-story East Building and Garage were built in 1945.

HKC received two grants from the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Kemper Fund for Kansas and Missouri. HKC engaged the project team of Taliaferro & Browne, STRATA Architects, Wallace Engineering, and TetraTech.

A grant provided by Ollie Gates is currently funding exterior masonry repairs.
