Hallmark Sends Very Best Pink Slips Again

The Kansas City-based corporate giant offers doubles down on killing more jobs.

"Hallmark reduced the size of its headquarters-based office workforce recently as the company transforms its business to meet the changing needs of consumers and address current economic conditions.

"This was a difficult decision, but one that will help the company invest in operational efficiencies, digital capabilities and product innovation. We are grateful for the many contributions of the 38 employees affected by the involuntary separations. Hallmark is providing severance and outplacement assistance to each of them.   

"In February, Hallmark rolled out a voluntary program, allowing employees to resign/retire in exchange for benefits. While we are not publicizing the number of employees who accepted that offer, the program dramatically lowered the number of involuntary staff reductions."

Hallmark Cards lays off 38 and offers voluntary buyouts - Kansas City Business Journal

Kansas City-based Hallmark Cards Inc. recently trimmed its workforce through a mix of layoffs and voluntary buyouts. Hallmark declined to share the types of roles or total number affected, but it did confirm that 38 employees were part of an involuntary layoff.
