Don't get it twisted . . . We understand that people rely on this service and it's vital to the success of KCMO. 

However . . .

Right now 12th & Oak is using the KCATA like a piggy bank and justifying it all by freebie service that has quickly degraded over the past few years. 

Here's the argument that our blog community isn't the only place that sees a disaster approaching:

Former KCATA official says he was fired after warning agency about 'significant financial problems'

A former top finance official for the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority is suing the agency for firing him after he raised alarms about the KCATA's "unsustainable" spending habits. Michael Graham was the senior vice president and chief financial officer of the regional transit agency.
