Elizabeth Anne Stivers Remembered

Already KCMO is trending ahead of last year's historic homicide count. 

Last year Kansas City suffered the 2nd highest murder total in its history. This year the pace is at least 10% higher. 

And so . . . For all of those reasons we share a heartfelt passage about a local victim that speaks to us and so many people just trying to live their lives in the urban core . . .

"She had worked tirelessly to rescue, care for and save many abandoned animals at the KC Paws Rescue Center. She couldn’t resist cuddling all animals and just had a way of calming even terrified ones quickly. She had a big heart and cared about all people she encountered. She was a “people person” and never knew a stranger and had a heartfelt and infectious laugh. She always made sure family and friends knew they were loved and appreciated."

Elizabeth Anne Stivers, 31, daughter of Timothy O. and Mary Ellen (Bryant) Stivers, was born in Kansas City, MO Nov. 25, 1991. She departed this life all too soon, on March 14, 2023 at. Liz graduated from Overland Christian Schools with the class of 2011.
