Chastain Continues Media Attacks Amid No Interest In His Campaign

For the late night . . . Here's why this is interesting . . .

Kansas City has conspired to politely ignore Clay Chastain rather than deal with the specifics of his claims or his campaign that he's running from a Virginia suburb with occasional local visits. 

And so . . . Here's the word from the contender and more recognition that locals aren't really so interested in local politics . . .

Yesterday the entire KC media, including (alas) even tonyskansascity, ignored covering my plan (press release) to ameliorate the homicides in Kansas City. Since I began my campaign for Mayor (2-months ago), I have yet to be contacted by a single member of the media for an interview. A town without Democracy. This blatant disregard, even though I am a qualified Mayoral candidate whose name was placed on the ballot by voters of Kansas City. Then, Fox news let the cat out of the bag and said to me...no Mayor can do anything about Kansas City's homicides because it's a systemic problem. Not only is that untrue, it is also racist. Is this how the rest of KC's media and political establishment feel, that homicides are just part of the minority culture East of Troost? That would explain why this disadvantaged area of our City has been neglected for decades.

I don't believe that and I won't govern under that false hypothesis, if elected Mayor. Our City will change course and start providing inner City youth Equal Opportunity in terms of...having a clean safe environment to live in, instruction in the importance of living with values, good local available jobs, good transit to get to outlying jobs, role models and job training programs. Violence is not a systemic problem - it is a deprivation problem. Make available (to all) equal access to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" and you will eliminate senseless homicides.

A NEW KIND OF MAYOR...FOR...A NEW KIND OF CITY.
