Triumphant Kansas Homecoming: Best-Selling Mike Pompeo Book Tour Hits Heartland

Our regular readers might remember that we talked about this political tome quite a bit during the doldrums of January . . .

Again, we don't really agree with his neo-con politics and faux MAGA populism but here's what nobody is saying . . . Pompeo is actually a pretty great writer.

Here's the newspaper playing catch-up and offering a bit of promo:

"This week, he’ll be back in the heartland, where he’ll speak at an event in Smithville, a suburb north of Kansas City, sponsored by the Herzog Foundation Thursday night. The Herzog family is known for being a big donor in Missouri Republican politics.

"He’ll also hold an event Friday at Wichita State University, in the heart of the district where Pompeo built his aerospace business and launched his political career. He’ll be visiting Missouri and Kansas in a moment where his book is the number one non-fiction bestseller in Kansas City, according to a list compiled by Rainy Day Books, and is third on the New York Times bestseller list."

Mike Pompeo, on national book tour, returns to Kansas. Is there a road to the presidency?

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has been a Baskin Robbins manager, the top of his class at West Point, an Army officer, a lawyer, an entrepreneur and a Kansas congressman. He's directed the nation's spies and sat down with dictators like Kim Jong-Un.
