About half of the weather newsies DID NOT PREDICT MUCH ACCUMULATION and said we'd get more of a wintry mix. 

Typically . . . Most of them are quick to panic and sound the alarm amid light rain.

This morning . . . People who bothered to pay attention to the weather might be a bit surprised.

Apropos for #TBT, back in the days when this blog was offered our first bribe . . . Kansas City weather newsies have been notorious across the nation for bad predictions.

To be fair . . . A few inches (of snow) rarely hurt anyone who didn't exercise a bit of caution.

KANSAS CITY METRO (KCTV) - Multiple inches of snow fell on the Kansas City metro early Thursday morning, covering area roadways and causing traffic issues. Because the snowfall levels were unexpected, very few local roads were pre-treated, and very few snow plows were out to start the day.

6:02 a.m. | KSHB 41 Chiefs Meteorologist Mike Nicco is encouraging any commuters to wait a few hours if possible as the snow will end from west to east in the next couple of hours. As the snow wraps up, temperatures will warm above freezing quickly.
