Kansas City Police Officer Struck By Gunfire Downtown & Will Survive

The big game threatens to distract us from more important issues . . . Like ongoing gun violence in KCMO that's becoming more brazen. 

There are a lot more details that will come to light regarding this incident but for now here's the first report . . .

Officer Shot Non Life Threatening

Tonight just before 9:30 pm at 1125 Locust KCPD Headquarters, a police officer was struck by gunfire.  The officer was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment of a non life threatening gun shot injury and is in stable condition.

The source of the gunshot is unknown and no suspect information is known at this time.

Detectives are continuing their investigation. There is no further information at this time.

Kansas City Police say officer shot outside police headquarters

Kansas City, Missouri, police said an officer was shot Sunday night outside KCPD headquarters.Police said an officer was struck by gunfire just before 9:30 p.m. outside the building on Locust Street.In a release, a Kansas City Police spokesperson said they did not know where the gunfire came from or any suspect information.Police said the officer is recovering in the hospital.


Officer hospitalized after suffering gunshot wound at KCPD HQ

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A police officer suffered a gunshot wound Sunday evening at Kansas City Police Headquarters. The police department stated that just before 9:30 p.m. at the headquarters in the 1100 block of Locust Street, the officer was shot and rushed to a hospital.
