Kansas City police engaged in standoff with suspect accused of firing shots inside home

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Kansas City, Missouri, police engaged in a standoff on Wednesday after shots were fired at someone coming to check on their deceased relative's house. The police department said officers were called to the 500 block of Wallace at about 3:30 p.m. after gunshots were heard.


KCPD investigates double shooting near 34th & Chestnut

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The KCPD is investigating after a Wednesday night shooting left two people injured. It happened just after 8 p.m. at a home near E. 34th Street and Chestnut Avenue, which is on the city's eastern side.


KCPD investigating life-threatening shooting at 40th and The Paseo

Police in Kansas City are investigating a life-threatening shooting. The shooting happened shortly after 5:40 p.m. in the area of 40th Street and The Paseo. There's no suspect information at this time, according to police. The victim was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries. This is a developing story.


Kansas City brothers charged with murder in Oak Park double shooting that killed one

Jackson County prosecutors have charged two Kansas City men, identified in court documents as brothers, with murder in a double shooting that unfolded early Friday in the city's Oak Park Northwest neighborhood. Lavert R. Bowman, 45, and Lamonte D. Bowman, 49, are accused of killing 31-year-old Mark Young in a residence in the 3400 block of Chestnut Avenue.

Police looking for missing, endangered 9-year-old in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - First responders have asked the public for help in finding a girl that was reported missing Wednesday morning. Kansas City police stated that 9-year-old Naomi Slayten, a biracial girl 4 feet 3 inches tall, was last seen in the area of 99th Street and Richmond Drive about 9 a.m.


KCPD Chief Stacey Graves addresses issues with south KC residents
