Kansas City Council Lady Bough Bends Zoning Rules For Wine & Book Shop

Don't take our snarky headline as criticism . . . Overall we enjoy women drinking wine and reading fiction . . . It saves a lot of effort on our part. 

However . . .

We're always a bit suspicious when council members start acting like benefactors with local rules & regs. 

Nevertheless . . . We're always happy to see a small biz earn a victory by way of boozing . . . We can only hope this effort will feature one of hottie Jordan's fitness efforts . . . But I digress . . . Here's a passage from tonight's report . . . 

When they wanted to finally open a brick and mortar location, the sisters discovered a city ordinance prevented them from getting a liquor license at their desired location — 3502 Gillham Road — because of density issues . . .

In the summer of 2022, THE BIZ worked with KCMO city councilwoman Andrea Bough to change the city’s ordinance. Now, the sisters were eligible for a waiver.

On Saturday, they officially cut the ribbon on their storefront at 3502 Gillham Road.
