Campaign season kicks off with a series of rigged gatherings that MIGHT OR MIGHT NOT influence many people. 

Consider this question . . .

In the era of social media and following the disconnect of the pandemic . . . Will Kansas City voters flock to candidate forums?!?

Not so long ago . . . Top columnists for the biggest Kansas City newspapers used to stake out these rituals. Nowadays, I'd be surprised to see if their zoom calls registered more than 10 people. 

More to the point . . .

KANSAS CITY CANDIDATE FORUMS MIGHT BE A THING OF THE PAST ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY'RE KINDA RIGGED!!!

We've explained this previously . . . But here's our main point of contention . . .

The CA was formerly a membership organization comprised of dozens of neighborhood leaders . . . Now it is a political action committee run by a handful of people pushing a slate of development friendly candidates.

Still . . . For better or worse . . . This is sorry the state of local politics and it's worth a peek . . .

The Citizens Association is announcing citywide KCMO Council Candidate forums.

Candidates for the Kansas City, MO City Council will appear in candidate forums across the city. The forums are organized by citizens, for citizens. You are invited to join our movement.
