Kansas City 2023 Homicide #13: Shooting Victim Dies At Hospital

Right now we share info on the latest local winter tragedy and the aftermath of a violent midweek night.

Homicide 7100 block of Askew

Just after 11pm, officers were called to the hospital in regard to a shooting victim who arrived by private conveyance.  The victim was rushed into the hospital for treatment, however, was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Officers received information the shooting occurred near E 71st and Askew.  Officers began canvassing the area and located an apparent crime scene in the 7100 block of Askew. 

Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene.  They will be processing the scene for evidence and canvassing for any potential witnesses.

One person killed in KCMO shooting Wednesday night

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -One person is dead after a shooting in Kansas City, Missouri late Wednesday night. Just after 11 p.m. Kansas City police were called to an area hospital in response to a shooting victim. That victim was rushed to the hospital in a private vehicle, but was pronounced dead by hospital staff a short time later.
