Kansas City 2023 Homicide #12: Victim Shot Dead Inside Vehicle

The local quotient of killing continues along the rising trend that has pushed KCMO homicide rates to record highs. 

Even arctic temperatures don't stop the bloodshed. 

Here is the first report from the latest deadly spate of gunfire . . .

Homicide 2400 blk of Brighton

This evening just after 10:45pm, officers were called to the 2400 block of Brighton Ave on a report of sounds of gunshots.  Upon arrival officers located the victim inside a vehicle suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  EMS responded and declared the victim deceased at the scene.

Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Personnel have responded.  They will be processing the scene for evidence and canvassing for any potential witnesses.

Kansas City Police investigating homicide near 24th and Brighton

KANSAS CITY, Mo - The Kansas City Police Department is investigating a late night homicide. Police say they were called to the area of 24th and Brighton just after 10:45 pm. on a report of sounds of gunshots. When they arrived, officers found the victim inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds.
