KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The entire Kansas City metro is under a Winter Weather Advisory until 3 p.m. Thursday. Snow is the main issue for northern Missouri while the Kansas City area saw more of a freezing drizzle/rain/sleet overnight that has turned into snow.


KCI airport runways back open; slick conditions reported Thursday morning on area roads

UPDATE 7:45 A.M. - KCI is back open. Snow and ice in the northern parts of the Kansas City area have led to the closure of the runways at Kansas City International Airport. Further south, icy conditions have caused slick conditions on area interstates. MCI Airport airfield closed because of ice contamination on the runways.


Multiple crashes close down SB I-635 in Wyandotte County

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -Southbound lanes of I-635 are closed in several locations due to multiple crashes Thursday morning. Southbound lanes of I-635 are closed at Horizons Parkway due to a multi-vehicle crash on the interstate. Drivers are being detoured at the exit ramp to navigate around the crash. As of 8am.


Ice, slippery conditions reported on many roadways across the metro

THIS MORNING. JOHN. YEAH. KATIE, WE'RE KIND OF FOCUSING ON 635 WHERE WE'VE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS TO RUN FROM I-29 DOWN TO I-70 AND ONE OF THOSE EARLY ON WAS HERE AT HORIZONS PARKWAY, WHERE WE HAD AN ACCIDENT, LOOKS LIKE RIGHT ON THE BRIDGE OVER HORIZON'S PARKWAY.
