COVID Helped Kill So Many Kansas City 'Third Spaces' And They Might Not Ever Come Back

First let's define terms . . . 

"In sociology, the third place refers to the social surroundings that are separate from the two usual social environments of home ("first place") and the workplace ("second place"). Examples of third places include churches, cafes, clubs, public libraries, gyms, bookstores, stoops and parks."

Face it . . . All of these places aren't as strong as they were before the pandemic. 

And whilst many locals blame the "Woke/Broke" phenomena for closing this biz . . .

Let's remember that EVERYTHING IS A NICHE nowadays and a vibrant economy helps all manner of biz earn a shot at keeping their customers . . . Check-it . . .

"The Nelle, located in the Crossroads Arts District, was a membership-based organization that created social events, arts programming, and gym classes to connect and motivate members. A gym, event space, and workroom were also available. With all of these amenities, the business was meant to be a “third space” for women and members of the LGBTQ+ community to network and feel empowered."

The Nelle closes after six years in business
