Chastain Threatens Lawsuit Against KCMO For Arrest Amid Mayoral Debate Quest

Like it or not, here's a glimpse at our local democracy in action . . .

Chastain Press release: 11:00 @ Union Station, Mayoral Candidate Clay Chastain casts his (early) vote for Mayor and holds a press conference announcing he will sue the City (for falsely having him arrested for trespassing) unless Mayor Lucas attends the press conference and publicly apologizes to Candidate Clay Chastain.

"The City (unlawfully) Tread on Me Mayoral Challenger Clay Chastain was arrested by the City, for trespassing and hauled off to jail in handcuffs, when he did absolutely nothing to deserve being arrested for. Chastain was @ City Hall, on Council day, to protest the Mayor's refusal to debate him before the people of Kansas City. That is not trespassing. Chastain did not campaign at City Hall. Chastain was there to politely and peacefully protest, like he has a right to do. Mayor Lucas can apologize to Chastain at the press conference, and all will be forgiven. And while he's there, Mayor Quinton Lucas can clarify to the Community whether or not he intends to debate Clay Chastain before the people of Kansas City."
