Lucas Kunce Campaign Kick-Off Ad Review

Sorry, but TKC has never been a fan of tough talk.

Not even from Marines.

In my limited life experience, I've found that people who talk a big game are mostly harmless. Honestly, I only start to worry when someone I'm close to gets quiet. Especially women . . . It typically means they're going to do something horrible. Or horribly AWESOME.

And so . . .

For me . . . It's kind of off-putting watching somebody throw around words like "coward" and "Daddy's money" without at least trying to be funny.

Still, there's some worthwhile moments to this commercial.

The advert uses a great deal of cinematic imagery.

The opening shot is a classic still frame technique that has kicked off some of the best Martin Scorsese movies. However, whereas Scorsese uses cinema to convey timeless lessons about life & love . . . This is just a political advert pushing a constant candidate propped up by D.C. money and the Pentagon.

Of course . . . The reaction to this advert has been praise & scorn mostly falling upon partisan lines.

Another review that offers glowing praise:

The campaign ad opens with a shot identified as a landscape view of Lexington, Missouri. A person is running on a road in the landscape. A voice over begins “My name is Lucas Kunce. I've done a lot of running in my life, running to stay healthy, running to fight for my country, running to defend democracy.” As shots of the person running gets closer and closer, we can see that it is a man running in a suit and red tie. “Oh, and by the way, that guy you're looking at, that's not me.”

At this point the screen freeze-frames as the man running trips and takes a header. “That's our current U.S. senator, Josh Hawley.”

From there, Kunce reminds the public of Hawley’s cowardly running away from the crowd of insurgents he enjoyed performing fake feats of machismo for just hours earlier.

Again . . .

More than our opinion . . .

We'd like to know what TKC readers think about the advert . . . What works & what is just schlock???

Here's an upbeat review via www.TonysKansasCity.com link . . .

Josh Hawley's opponent just entered the Senate race with a powerful new campaign ad

In November, former Marine Lucas Kunce ran a solid grassroots campaign for U.S. Senate that surprised many but came up short in the Democratic primary after Trudy Busch Valentine entered into the race late. Kunce is not letting the momentum he...
