At around 2:30 a.m., officers responded to a call checking for potential prowlers near the water plant, west of I-435 near Gardner Avenue.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City police are investigating after they say potential partial human remains were discovered at the Blue River Waste Water Plant early Wednesday morning. Officers with the East Patrol division were in the area on an unrelated call at about 2:30 a.m.

The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department is now working with the Jackson County Medical Examiner's Office after officers found what is believed to be human remains early Wednesday morning.Police said officers from KCMO's East Patrol Division were in the area of the Blue River Waste Water Plant in the 7300 block of Hawthorne Road just before 2:30 a.m.
