The Royals announced home game times for the 2023 regular season, starting with a 3:10 CT start time on Opening Day on Thursday, March 30 against the Twins at Kauffman Stadium. One notable change is that weekday evening games during the school year will begin at 6:40 CT, rather than 7:10 as in years past.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - One person has died in an apartment fire early Monday afternoon in Raytown. Just before 1 p.m., fire crews from the Raytown Fire Protection District and the Kansas City, Missouri, Fire Department were called to an apartment fire at Bowen Tower Seniors Apartments in the 6100 block of Raytown Road.

MERRIAM, Kan. - Construction has begun on the redevelopment of a former Kmart site in Merriam after years of vacancy. Crews demolished the former Kmart building and nearby Pegahs restaurant, located near Antioch Road and Shawnee Mission Parkway, late last year. The Kmart had sat empty since the store closed in 2013.
