Kansas City Apartment Life Stays Losing

We're busy with a few things behind the scenes today . . .

However, we didn't want to miss a bevy of updates that give us a moment to be THANKFUL that our basement HQ is better than so many other rat-holes around town. 

Some of these folks haven't had water for week . . . Not to brag but we have a bucket AND a faucet that usually works on those infrequent occasions when we bathe out of necessity and typically following a modicum of complaints.

Anyhoo, here's more than a few tales of misery and our update on the death of the American dream . . .

Kansas City apartments still without smoke detectors 8 months after fire

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - When you search online for Stonegate Meadows Apartments in Kansas City, you'll find rental listings showcasing clean, functional apartments. But after Problem Solvers received at least five complaints in November and December from tenants regarding broken fire alarms, mice and roach infestations, water leaking through the ceilings, no heat and no hot water, we decided to pay them a visit.


Apartment residents without water since last week still struggling

There is slight progress to a water emergency at the Stonegate Meadows apartment complex.Unfortunately, the fix to Raymond Blanford's water system is not enough.Wednesday, just two days after KMBC 9 Investigates got involved, a drip of hot water came from Blanford's kitchen sink.Blanford said maintenance personnel turned the water back on after broken pipes last week.


Tenants at KCK apartments want answers on flooding, mold

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Some tenants at a Kansas City, Kansas apartment complex have complained about continued flooding, leaky ceilings, mold and mildew. One mom and her 16-month-old have no place to live after they said mold was found in their apartment. The apartment complex said there isn't a mold issue and is working on the reported problem.


Tenants say Gladstone apartment complex is plagued with water issues
