Jackson County Exec Frank White Presides Over BLANK Budget

We know local government budgets aren't the most exciting thing in the world and that's why so many cowtown journalists don't often cover the topic. 

However . . . 

This morning we'll try to make it interesting by keeping thinks short, sharp and snarky.

The main takeaway that taxpayers should understand . . . 

THE JACKSON COUNTY BUDGET PUSHED BY TEAM FRANK ALLOCATES MILLIONS WITHOUT ANY DEETS!!! IN FACT, MOST OF IT IS BLANK!!!

Don't take the word of a blogger for it . . . We have a peek that's public info but buried amid dozens of reports about some dude's sprained ankle and so many opportunities to eat chicken wings this afternoon. 

Here's a glimpse at the Jackson County financial data or lack thereof . . .

Look closely . . . As far as we can tell that's about 74 MILLION BUCKS passed through the budget without so much as a detailed line item. 

For the record, this kind of fast & loose accounting might even register an error with Quickbooks. Even SBF made more of an effort than this blank document.

"By law, the legislature have till Tuesday to pass a budget or revert back to last years numbers . . .

"(Exec) Frank Wite will have ten days to veto and has baked a budget book stripping powers and hiding money . . ."

There's a showdown set for Monday & Tuesday wherein newly elected officials will attempt to iron out deets they've been given with less than 48 hours to debate how TENS OF MILLIONS will be spent over the next year.
