Insiders: Kansas City Bike Lanes Threaten Fire Truck Access

The start of the new year has evoked many questions regarding worsening public safety threats.

Accordingly . . .

Here's an inquiry that's raising concern . . .

ARE MORE KANSAS CITY BIKE LANES PUTTING LOCAL BUILDINGS AT RISK GIVEN THAT FIRE TRUCKS ARE PUSHED FURTHER INTO THE STREET!?!

The argument makes sense and it's actually a nationwide concern . . .

"The issue is whether protected bike lanes and the resulting narrower road lanes endanger residents because fire equipment can't get to them or can't fight fire from those narrow lanes."

Here's what insiders tell www.TonysKansasCity.com . . .

A few Kansas City bike lanes are negligible and public safety officials can likely find away around the impediments.

However . . .

The proliferation of bike lanes hasn't yet included conversation with public safety officials and there have been recent fire fighting scenarios wherein the current apparatus used by KCFD couldn't overcome greater distances imposed by bike lanes.

Right now this discussion is behind the scenes but will come to light soon enough if somebody's business burns down thanks to a bike lane.

On the bright side . . . The only thing KCFD loves more than impressing random bar skanks with branded merch is buying new equipment so ALL OF THIS could be an early Christmas present for some lucky public safety shopper . . . On the dime of local taxpayers, of course.

Developing . . .
