According to a great many scumbags we've interviewed . . . Not so long ago . . . Dealing weed was one of the safest avenues for local thugs because the profit margins were low, the clientele was mostly comprised of harmless stoners and all of the really dangerous people used coke, meth or other designer drugs and didn't want to be bothered with the risk of dabbling in something as pedestrian as weed. 

Now . . .

The rapidly expanding weed black market coupled with greater legal protections has transformed KCMO into an "open city" where amateurs abound and create increasingly dangerous circumstances in the already sketchy drug trade.

Here's one example of a trend that is only now starting to take hold across the metro . . .

"Court documents say SUSPECT used SnapChat to organize a drug sale with the victim. A meet location was decided which led Smith to the apartments where he was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint for an unknown amount of drugs and resulted in his death by a single gunshot wound to the chest."
