Deadly Gunfire Pushes Kansas City Ahead Of Last Year's Homicide Count . . . Already

Last year there were 3 homicides at this date on the calendar . . . Tonight Kansas City records five going into an election year.

Here's the UPDATE and first report . . . 

Homicide: 10300 block of E. 42nd Street

Tonight at about 6:10 PM officers were dispatched on sound of shots in the area of 10300 E. 42nd St., while in route, the call was upgraded to a shooting. Upon arrival officers observed a vehicle in the parking lot. They observed an adult male inside of the vehicle who had been shot and was unresponsive. Officers began life-saving measures at that time. EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. We do not have any suspect information at this time and are asking for the public’s s help.

Detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene and are actively canvassing for witnesses and processing the scene for evidence. Man shot, killed in Kansas City's east side

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City police are investigating a homicide Tuesday evening after one person was shot and killed. Police responded to the shooting just after 6 p.m. near E. 42nd Street and Pittman Road. When officers arrived on scene they found a man inside of a vehicle who had been shot and was unresponsive.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police in Kansas City, Missouri, are investigating a deadly shooting that happened on Tuesday night. The shooting happened in the 10300 block of E. 42 nd Street at around 6:30 p.m. No other details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting were immediately available.
