Critics Question Campaign Finance Conflicts For Councilman Bunch

The latest KCMO campaign finance reports are slowly coming in and already there are more than a few donations that have raised eyebrows.

To wit . . .

CRITICS QUESTION COUNCIL DUDE BUNCH'S DONATIONS FROM LOCAL POWER PLAYERS!!!

Let's look at the gifts that have sparked the most concern . . .

From the start 100 bucks from Past Chair at Kansas City Regional Transit Alliance Kite Singleton is kinda sketchy given that the dude will still be doing a great deal of "mediation & arbitration" in his new gig according to LinkedIn.

More than any other bit of cash reported . . .

$1800 from the airport builder and Ideker honcho should raise eyebrows considering a great deal of controversy surrounding a switched bid that still sparks questions about New KCI.

Another 100 bucks from Downtown council dude Bill Dietrich let's us know that the denizens inside the loop will have their hands out.

Strangely . . . Blogger JimmyC gave Eric Bunch 250 bucks but that might be mostly directed as spite to the council dude's critics on this blog.

Finally . . .

Longtime development lawyer Jerry Riffel is a strident supporter of council dude Bunch and has already max'd out his donations . . . So now, his wife Joan threw in 500 bucks.

To wit . . .

It looks like developers are the key demographic supporting the reelection of councilman Bunch.

Another fun fact . . .

Councilman Bunch will also be getting the critical Local 42 endorsement despite his criticism of the group in his first campaign for office.

And so . . .

Whilst the council dude might be attempting to save the world by way of bike lanes, his supporters seem more concerned with building their own projects that might or might not match up with 4th District priorities.

Developing . . .
